The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 27, 1983
     Janette Mae Sorahan, 97, a lifetime resident of The Dalles, died Oct. 24 
at a local nursing home.
     She was born July 24, 1886 in The Dalles.
     She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Old Wasco County Pioneer 
Association and the American Legion Auxiliary for 41 years.
     Survivors include a sister, Davina Ball, Dufur; a sister-in-law, Orma 
Nelson, The Dalles; six nieces and two nephews.  Her husband, Philip, died in 
1934.
     Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Hopper officiating.  Burial will be at The 
Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
     Memorials are suggested to charities.
