The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 1, 1987
Leona F. Smith, 93, died in a local nursing home April 20.  She was a resident 
of Wasco for 92 years.

Mrs. Smith was born in Pendleton Dec. 24, 1893.  She was a member of the Wasco 
United Methodist Church, The Annie Fulton Chapter O.E.S., Daughters of the 
Nile, United Methodist Women, Wasco Women’s Study Club and the Rufus Grange.  
Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death in 1974.

She is survived by her son, Delmer Smith, of Wasco; five grand-children and 
seven great-grand-children.

Graveside services were held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, officiated by Rev. June 
Fothergill.  Donations in her memory are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis 
Foundation or the Wasco United Methodist Church.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in 
charge of arrangements.
