Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 16, 2006, 11:33 am The Dalles Chronicle, October 14, 2005 Tulaga Leilani Sione, 48, a resident of The Dalles since summer 1988, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005. She was born Feb. 5, 1957, in Afono, American Samoa, the second of six children to Lemalie Tuimavave and Tapu Laupola. She grew up in Afono and attended high school there. Tulaga was a homemaker and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and once a Sabbath school teacher. Her family and friends were very important to her; especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, writing, singing, traveling and mainly church events. She is survived by her husband, Solomona Aliilua, whom she married Dec. 27, 1973, in Tutuila, American Samoa; her three daughters and a son, Toafa Melissa Sione and her daughters, Tulaga II Madeleen Sione and Tilaima June Sione; Tapu Jenny Sione and her children, Avega Deondre Sione, Komisi Alii Sione and Vaipou Kuuipo Sione; Avega Sione and his children, Vera Vercedes Saliew-Sione, Valon Veejr Saliew-Sione, Kaileeyah Lynn Saechao-Sione and Amya Saechao-Sione, all of The Dalles; and Luanna Sione and her children Athaliah Faaupu Sione and Aaryah Justine Sione, all of Portland; her siblings, Rosa Lemalie, Talo Moliga, Tamau Laupola and Siope Laupola. She was preceded in death by her father, Lemalie Tumavave, and her sister, Faaupa Laupola. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home from 2 p.m. through evening services at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005. Another funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at The Dalles Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at The Dalles Three Mile Road IOOF Cemetery.
