     Anna Lea Sims, 74, a resident of The Dalles, died at a Portland care 
facility Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003.
     She was born July 8, 1929 in Pindall, Ark., the fourth of five children 
to Edward and Electa (Younger) Morris. She was raised in Arkansas and married 
Joseph Thomas Sims on Nov. 19, 1944 in Jasper, Ark. 
     They moved to The Dalles in 1948 and she worked as a seamstress at 
Webber’s Cleaners, and then as a certified nurse’s aide at The Dalles General 
Hospital.
     She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed her family, knitting and 
crocheting. 
     She is survived by her daughter, Thelma and her husband, Bert Younglove, 
Portland; four grandchildren, Tom and his wife, Shari Jones, Portland; Kathy 
and her husband, Mike Simons, McKenna, Wash.; Regina K. Younglove, Vancouver, 
Wash., and Christine and her husband, Keoni McHone, Gladstone; three great-
grandchildren, Amber, Joey and Sarah; her brother, Charlie Morris and his 
wife, Violet, The Dalles; and her sister, Estelee Meyer, Chico, Calif. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1989; her daughter, 
Virginia Jones in 2003; her brother, John L. and her sister, Lea.
     Memorial services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
on Monday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. Interment of cremains will follow at IOOF 
Cemetery on Threemile Road. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt 
Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to Hopewell House, 6171 SW Capitol HWY, Portland, 
OR 97239.
