He was born October 2, 1940, in The Dalles, the youngest of two children to Wayne and Eva (Woods) Sigman. He grew up in Dufur and graduated from Dufur High School in 1958. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1962. At a young age he attended florist school in Portland and was proud of the fact than at age 12 he was the youngest licensed florist in Oregon. He opened Sigman's Flowers in late 1962. In 1980 he moved to Portland and became a travel agent and spent time traveling. In the late 1980s he opened a new florist shop in Portland called Jackson's Flowers. He enjoyed spending time at his beach condo with his dog "Sam", his family and good friends. He is survived by his niece and her spouse, Sandy and Larry Loop, The Dalles; nephew and spouse Mike and Adrienne Sigman, Wildomar, California; his aunt, Mary Hunt, The Dalles; numerous cousins including Judy Sawtell, Sandy; Jim Hunt, The Dalles; Mary Alice Albert and Bill Sigman, Priveville (Oregon); Gene Underhill, Dufur; Ed Underhill, The Dalles; Dick Sigman, Chicago (Illinois); great-niece, Jena; great-nephews Ryan, Trevor and Dylan and special friends Stuart Farmer and Louise Boulevard. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry Sigman on February 11, 2002. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23 at Gables Funeral Chapel, 225 NE 80th Avenue, Portland, with Asa Jenson officiating.
