Wakley iwakley@msn.com June 1, 2006, 4:09 pm The Dalles Chronicle, April 7, 2006 James Shouldebrand, 62, of Wishram died on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 in Portland. He was born on Aug. 10, 1943 in Bremerton, Wash. to Steven R. and Wilma Shouldebrand. The family moved to Burbank, Calif., where he attended school. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era and was married to Claire Beliveau on June 6, 1965 in Burbank. The family lived in the gorge area for over twenty years and had relocated to Wishram from Goldendale in 2000. He spent most of his working life as a railroad employee with the Burlington Northern, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed trains, guns and painting pictures. Survivors include his wife Claire, Wishram, Wash,; three sons, Casey and Robert, both of Wishram; and Shawn, Owensboro, Ky.; one daughter, Shasta Goins, Owensboroy. Grandchildren Josh, Robie, Andrew, William, Nathan, Cathy, Ricky, Katie, Christopher, Jimmy and Rachel, as well as five sisters also survive. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at the Wishram Community Church. Erdman Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
