The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 29, 1988
     Helen Cooper Shipe, 86, died in a Pendleton nursing home Jan. 21.  She 
was a resident of Pendleton since 1975, but was born in The Dalles.
     Mrs. Shipe was born to George and Frances Cooper on May 7, 1901, in The 
Dalles.  She graduated from The Dalles High School in 1919.
     She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth J. McAuslan of Pendleton; two 
granddaughters; a brother; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. at Spencer, 
Libby and Powell Funeral Home.  Private burial will follow at Odd Fellows 
Cemetery in The Dalles.  Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for 
Crippled Children in care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
