     Louise Ann Shaw, 89, a former resident of Hood River County and The 
Dalles and a resident of McMinnville, died on Aug. 13, 2004.
     She was born Aug. 19, 1914, the daughter of Victor and Rose Ann (McGrory) 
Beauregard. She grew up with four sisters on a hillside farm at the start of 
the “loop” highway in the Hood River Valley.
     After graduating from Western Oregon College she taught at Port Orford 
for two years. She was then hired at Mt. Hood School.
     She married Edwin C. Shaw on Oct. 19, 1940 in Hood River.
     She continued teaching in the Hood River Valley for 42 years.
     She resided in Mt. Hood from 1940 to 1953, Odell from 1953 to 1988, and 
The Dalles from 1988 to 2004 when she moved to McMinnville.
     She enjoyed sewing for everyone in the family, gardening (especially 
roses) and traveling the quiet back roads of Eastern Oregon with her family.
     She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and was active with the 
Extension service groups.
     Survivors include two sons, John Shaw, Portland, and Earl Shaw, Longview, 
Wash.; a daughter, Mary Onstott, McMinnville; a sister, Addy Leatherberry, 
West Linn; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in the Hood River 
Valley on Thursday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. Macy & Sons of McMinnville is in care 
of arrangement’s.
