Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 10:22 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 12, 1984 Janet Kay Sargeant, 45, died at her home in The Dalles Thursday, April 12, following an extended illness. She was born in Rolla Maries, Mo., on March 7, 1939. She was a bookeeper at Hampton Furniture. She was a member of First Christian Church, where she had been a choir member and a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her husband R. T. (George) Sargeant, The Dalles; parents Cy and Ethel Stewart, Dixon, Mo.; daughters Toni Smith of Salem, Tammy Lee of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joan Sommer of Chico, Calif., Katheryn Prouty of Portland and Jeanette Sargeant of Stayton; a son, Kenneth Tibbets of Portland; grandchild Rebekah Smith; and a brother, Tom Stwart of Santa Cruz, Calif. Memorial services were on Saturday, April 15, at First Christian Church with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church Memorial Fund. Spencer, Libby and Powell was in charge of arrangements.
