Wakley iwakley@msn.com May 18, 2006, 2:52 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 20, 1987 Frances B. Sandoz, 67, died in a local nursing home Feb. 13. She was a resident of The Dalles for 41 years. Mrs. Sandoz was born in San Francisco, Calif., March 7, 1919. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Genevieve Circle, Alter Society, Farm Bureau, Mill Creek Grange, VFW Auxiliary and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She and her husband, James, were married for 41 years, since Nov. 13, 1946, when they married in San Francisco. She is survived by her husband, James, of The Dalles; four sons, Edward James and Vincent, all of Portland, and Daniel of The Dalles; five grandchildren; two brothers, Joe and Vincent Battaglia of San Francisco; three sisters, Rose Toamsello of San Francisco, Margaret Elam of Lebanon, Ohio, and Marie Battaglia of San Francisco. Recitation of the rosary was held at Smith Callaway Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ronald E. Maag officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Foundation Fund in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
