The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 29, 1983
     Raymond D. Sampson, 64, a resident of Salem for the past four years and a 
former longtime resident of The Dalles, died Saturday in a Salem hospital.
     He was born Nov. 8, 1918 in Haigler, Neb.
     Survivors include his wife, Ethyle T. Sampson, Salem, two daughters, 
Marilyn Bales, The Dalles, and Carolyn Hall, Salem; two sons, Jerry Sampson, 
Portland, and Dennis Sampson, Sweet Home; two sisters, Zella James, The Dalles 
and Grace Hudspeth, Brighton, Colo., and eight grandchildren.
     Memorial services were yesterday (Wednesday) at the Virgil T. Golden 
Mortuary in Salem.  Private burial followed.
