She was a resident of The Dalles since 1951. Mrs. Samp was born in Nebraska on April 17, 1907. She worked in the housekeeping department at the hospital for many years before retirement. She was a member of the Free Methodist church in Pendleton and was a charter member of the hospital auxiliary here. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Douglas of The Dalles; three sons, Earl LeRoy Samp of Seattle, Ernest Dean Samp of Troutdale and Richad Marvin Samp of Seattle; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a brother Wayne Brown of Minneapolis. Graveside memorial services were held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery officiated by Rev. Raymond Bates. Memorials are suggested to the Mid-Columbia Medical Center Auxiliary. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
