The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 21, 1983
     Olive Luella Russell, 67, a resident of The Dalles for 30 years, died 
July 13 at the hospital.
     She was born March 5, 1916 in Loop City, Neb.
     Mrs. Russell was a member of The Dalles Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.
     Survivors include her husband, Jack, The Dalles; three sons, Samuel W. 
Carroll, Bellflower, Calif.; Dwayne M. Carroll, Hermiston, and Richard A. 
Carroll, Camas, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Lou) Darnielle, The Dalles, 
and Mrs. Robert (Clarice) Stevens, Hermiston; two stepsons, Douglas and 
William Russell, both of The Dalles; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Karen) 
Kulvick, San Antonio, Tex.; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; three 
brothers, Thomas Ward, San Francisco; Samuel Ward, in Arizona, and Delbert 
Eugene Ward, New Orleans, La.; and two sisters, Frances Ferguson, Arbuckle, 
Calif., and Mildred Anderson, Glendora, Calif.
     Funeral services were Saturday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Thornton Gapen officiating.  Cremation was in Portland and 
interment at The Dalles IOOF Memorial Mausoleum.
     Memorials are suggested to charities.
