The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 29, 1984
     Everett Louis Rupe, 86, died at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Nov. 22.  He 
was a resident of Maupin for the past four and one half years and previously a 
resident of Glenrock, Wyom.

     He was born in Bethany, Mo., on March 3, 1898.  He had worked as a farmer 
in Wyoming before he retired and moved to Maupin.

     Mr. Rupe was a member of the Catholic church.

     Survivors include his wife, Lany, Maupin; three daughters, Cathy Knor, 
Glenrock; Dorothy Smothermon, Maupin; and Carol E. Werner, Vancouver, Wash.; a 
son, Stanley (Bud) Rupe; two brothers, Don and Jess Rupe; 16 grandchildren and 
14 great-grandchildren.

     Graveside services were Sunday at the Kelly Cemetery in Maupin with the 
Rev. Martin Quigley officiating.

     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
