The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 29, 1984
Sellah Foster Rooper,89, a resident of The Dalles since 1963, died at a local 
nursing home March 20.

She was born in Dayton March 22, 1894.

Before moving to The Dalles, she lived and taught school in Antelope.  She 
married her husband, Henry Rooper in 1921.

She was a member of the First Christian Church; the Anna Fulton Chapter, Order 
of Eastern Star; and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Marcia) Mathias, Potosi, Wis., 
and Mrs. Fred (Beth) Hill, Wasco; eight grandchildren and many great-
grandchildren.  Her husband died in 1964 and a son, Henry (Bill) Rooper died 
in 1969.

Funeral services were Friday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with 
Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating.  Burial followed at The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
