She was born in Dayton March 22, 1894. Before moving to The Dalles, she lived and taught school in Antelope. She married her husband, Henry Rooper in 1921. She was a member of the First Christian Church; the Anna Fulton Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Marcia) Mathias, Potosi, Wis., and Mrs. Fred (Beth) Hill, Wasco; eight grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. Her husband died in 1964 and a son, Henry (Bill) Rooper died in 1969. Funeral services were Friday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Burial followed at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
