Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 5, 2006, 9:28 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 9, 1984 George Hansel Rogers, 77, died in Portland, August 2. He resided in The Dalles since 1926. He was born July 11, 1907 in Weiser, Idaho. He was a machinist and for many years he and Harold Percy were partners in The Dalles Taxi Cab Co. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Hawthorn Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Portland. Survivors include his wife, Edna M., The Dalles; a son, Gerald, Portland; two brothers, Wilbert A., The Dalles, and Leland, Castle Rock, Wash.; two sisters, Twyla Olmstead, Castle Rock, and Mary Koch, Rosalia, Wash.; three grandchildren, two nieces and four nephews. Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Lewis Gregory Monday at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
