The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 30, 1987
John Samuel Robinson, 90, died at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center on Jan. 20.  
He was a resident of The Dalles since 1912.

Born in Culver, Ore., Sept. 18, 1896.  Mr. Robinson also spent time in the 
Klickitat County area, where he served two terms as the county commissioner.  
He was a farmer in The Dalles and the Klickitat County area until retirement.

After retirement, Mr. Robinson went to college and served as a minister for 
three years.  He was a member of the First Christian Church and was active in 
the Cherry Park Grange, Pomona Grange, Old Wasco County Pioneers, Tyee 
Mineralites Club and Gideons Society.

He is survived by his wife, Luvina, of The Dalles, who he married in 1960; 
son, Robert J. Robinson of Salem; daughter, Margaret L. Henderson of Albany; 
step-son, Ollie Lash of The Dalles; step-daughters, June Martin of The Dalles 
and Alice McDermott of Sherwood; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 
two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-
granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, 
officiated by Pastor Ronald Coleman, followed by interment at Odd Fellows 
Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Oregon Heart Association.
