The Dalles Chronicle December 3, 2002. Harold Glen Robinson, 73, a resident of Dufur (Oregon), died of cancer at the Oregon Veterans Home on November 27, 2002. He was born November 17, 1929 in Greeley, Colorado, to Colby Lancelot and Lila Mae Robinson. His father died when he was eight years old and he attended school in Dufur from age nine on. He also earned money for his family by delivering newspapers, herding cattle and driving farm machinery. He then served for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Supply Sergeant. He subsequently entered police work, spending 18 years and earning a degree in law enforcement. He worked as a policeman, a sheriff and a deputy sheriff in Nevada. He later moved to Oregon and married his wife, Marcia in 1997. He was a VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) member and enjoyed traveling, gardening and fixing things. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; and son, Richard; sister Bonnie and her husband, Don; and several nieces and nephews; step children, Nancy and Todd Skowrup, Steve and Elaine Marvel and Joyce and Francois Benoist; and step grandchildren, Wynton and Rachana Skowrup; Melanie, Seth and Luke Marvel; Aaron Garmon and Sera Benoist. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Erna Baush; his brother, Richard; his father and mother, and a step father, Roy Otey. A memorial service will be held at Dufur Methodist Church on Thursday, December 5, at 1 p.m. Private entombment was held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Spokane (Washington) with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
