     Maybelle L. “Mickey” Roberts, 97, a resident of The Dalles, died at her 
home Monday, Nov. 15, 2004. 
     She was born in 1907 in Palmer to J.C. and Susan Bramlette. 
     She was married for 52 years to Fred L. Roberts, who preceded her in 
death in 1978.
     She lived in Montana for 73 years, mostly in the city of Great Falls, 
before returning to The Dalles in 2000 to live at the Cherry Heights 
Retirement Home. 
     During World War II, she worked as a military aircraft mechanic on the 
Bell AirCobra fighter, and the B-25 and A-26 bombers, before the airplanes 
were ferried from Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls to Alaska and then to 
Russia. Many of the planes she worked on were flown by women, who were members 
of the Womens’ Army Air Corps.
     She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hoar, Newport Beach, Calif.; 
her grandsons, Michael Berg, San Francisco, Calif.; and Thomas Woolard, Costa 
Mesa, Calif.; her great-grandchildren, James, Kimberly, Eric and Jarred, and 
her great-great granddaughter, Audrey. She was preceded in death by her 
brothers, Dick and Clyde Bramlette
     Graveside services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Cherry Heights 
Road on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Trace Browning officiating. 
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles.
