     Mary Ann “Sue” Rinehart, 81, a resident of The Dalles, died on Wednesday, 
Jan. 11, 2006.
     She was born on Sept. 26, 1924 in Maupin, the youngest of six children to 
Thomas and Margaret (Sigman) Slusher. Her family moved to Dufur after she was 
born, where she grew up and graduated from high school. After school she went 
to work for U.S. Bank.
     She married Eldon Clayton Ward in 1945 in Dufur, then moved to The Dalles 
area and farmed until 1965 when he died. She married Jack Lloyd Rinehart in 
Portland, in June 1968. She and her second husband moved to The Dalles. She 
loved golf and became a member of The Dalles Country Club in 1966. She loved 
to travel, go on cruises and play card games, especially pinochle.
     She is survived by her son, John Ward, Dyanne Opitz and Sandra Skirving 
Ward, all of The Dalles; and her granddaughters Jennifer and Carrie Ward; her 
son Sam Ward, Seattle; her stepdaughters, Cheryl Dull, Lake Oswego; and Linda 
Rinehart, Hillsboro; her step-son, John Rinehart, Peoria, Ark.; her niece, 
Linda Slusher and her nephew William Slusher.
     She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Clayton Ward and 
Jack Rinehart, her brothers and a sister.
     Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Spencer, Libby 
and Powell Funeral Home with Asa Jenson officiating.
     Memorials may be made to Celilo Cancer Center, 1800 W. 19th St, The 
Dalles, OR 97058.
