The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 13, 1988
     Virginia Lavon Rich, 42, died May 7, 1988, in The Dalles, born August 8, 
1945, she resided in Wasco for 20 years.
     She is survived by her husband, Jack E. Rich, Wasco; daughter, Verna 
Louise Simantel, Wasco; son, Daniel Jonathon Rich, Wasco; mother, Maxine 
Carlson, Portland; four brothers, Dale Carlson, U.S. Navy; Bill Newton and Pat 
Newton, Portland; LeRoy Newton, Portland; six sisters, Vivian Carlson, Francis 
Carlson, Wasco; Charlene Perini, Portland; Marlene Carlson, Portland; Janet 
Welk, Wasco; and Gail Finnegan, Wasco; mother-in-law Helen Rich and several 
nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were held at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery, Smith Callaway 
Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
