He was born June 14, 1930 in Silverton to Adam and Myrtle (Robson) Reznicsek. He was raised in the Grande Ronde area and attended schools in Gervis, Woodburn and Willamina. He worked in sawmills and was a log truck driver before being medically disabled. He suffered from a disease called Marie Tooth Syndrome, and had to have both of his feet amputated. After he received his artificial feet, he got around very well, and most people were unaware of his handicap. In 1971, he moved to Grass Valley where he helped around the restaurant, Carol’s Kitchen and enjoyed visiting with people and making friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grass Valley. He was also a member of NRA and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. His friends made sure he could go out. He is survived by his sisters, Nora Wood, Dallas, Ore.; Rose and her husband, Roger Birt, McMinnville; Rosalie and her husband, Henry Payne, Harrisburg; brothers, Albert and his wife, Pat Reznicsek, Grande Ronde; Walter and his wife, Dorothy Reznicsek, Polson, Mont.; Virgil and his wife, Carol Grout, Grass Valley; and Marvin Grout, Tillamook; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepmother, Dolly; stepbrothers, Lorenzo and Peter Grout. Funeral services will be held at Grass Valley First Baptist Church on Monday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Richard Kenney officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Silverton. Smith Callaway Chapel is in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Grass Valley.
