The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 30, 1983
     William H. Reid, 72, a resident of The Dalles and Wasco County since 
1969, died June 22 at the hospital.
     He was born May 27, 1911 at Vick, Ark.
     Mr. Reid was a member of the Oregon State Sheriff's Association and the 
Laborers Union in Portland.  He formerly worked for the U. S. Forest Service 
in Dufur.
     Survivors include two sons, Jack D., Longview, Wash., and Thomas W., 
Portland; a daughter, Mrs. Billie R. Brush, Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, 
two brothers, Paul Reid, Spokane, Wash.; and Cline Reid, Sheridan, Wyo., and a 
sister, Bonnie Davis, Omak, Wash.
     Funeral services were Saturday at Smith Callaway Chapel with Pastor Asa 
Jenson officiating.  Burial was at a cemetery in Leola, Ark.
