The Dalles Chronicle, February 23, 2005
     Corlena Ava (Pedigo) (Price) Reed, 73, a resident of The Dalles, died at 
home Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.
     She was born on Nov. 23, 1931 in Sioux City, Iowa, the oldest child of 
Orville and Ollie (Allen) Pedigo.
     When she was 3 years old, her family moved from Iowa to Wieppe, Idaho, 
where some of her father’s family had settled. 
     In 1937, the family moved to Hermiston, where she and her brothers, Alan, 
Martin and Bob were raised and went to school. 
     She graduated from Hermiston High School in 1950, and loved attending her 
high school re-unions.
     She married Robert Leon Price, in 1949, and together they had five 
children — Jacqueline, Deborah, Michael, Daniel and Catherine.
     All were raised in The Dalles. 
     Leon was killed on-the-job in 1970, in The Dalles, forcing her to be both 
mother and father to her children.
     She drove a pilot car for heavy equipment loads and manufactured homes, 
until ill health forced her to retire in 1981.
     In 1985, she married Ken Reed, welcoming into her family his two adult 
children, Jeannie and Scott.
     She was preceeded in death by her parents, her sons, Michael Leon Price 
(1973), and Scott Reed (1994), and her brothers; Alan (2002), Martin (2003) 
and Bob Pedigo (2003).
     She was a faithful member, Sunday school teacher, counselor, friend, 
mother and grandmother to all the members of Covenant Christian Community 
Church (formerly Full Gospel Tabernacle). She is described as “truly the 
Church Matriarch.” For many years, she was the church’s secretary and 
treasurer and then was a member of the church council, until her death. 
     She is survived by children: Jacqueline and Rufus Washington, Debbie 
(Picker) Learman and John Jones, Dan and Elaine Price, Jeannie andWayne 
Kenyon, Rev. Cathe and Dan Wiese; grandchildren: Steve and Tovi Picker, Sherry 
and Jason Hanson, Scott and Amelia Picker, DVM, Susan-Ava and Dan Davis, 
Michael and Anne Price, Tim and Rachel Wiese, Christie and Blake Stepper, 
Heather and Jeremy Soule, Micah and Heather Wiese, Robert and Krysta Price, 
David Price, and Tj Murray; great-grandchildren Cody, Hudson and Bayli Picker, 
Hailey Soule, Carson and Amelia Picker, Leeah Stepper, Austin Price and Lucy 
Price. 
     She is also survived by her brother’s widows, numerous nieces and nephews.

     A Celebration Of Life Memorial will be March 5 at 2 p.m. at Covenant 
Christian Community Church, The Dalles. 
     Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
