The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 19, 1984
     Ralph O. Reed, 88, a resident of The Dalles for the past two years and 
formerly a resident of Hood River and Mosier, died Jan. 14 at a local nursing 
home.
 
     He was born Sept. 3, 1895 in Loup City, Neb.

     Mr. Reed married Oct. 12, 1915, and moved to Los Angeles where he was in 
the automotive business.  In 1927, he traded for property in Mosier.  They 
lived there until 1942 then they moved to Hood River.  He retired from 
operating a repair shop at a lumber mill in 1960.

    He was a lifelong member of the Oregon Grange and had been affiliated with 
the Elks Lodge in Hood River.

     Survivors include three daughters, LaRue Stolhand, Hood River; Georgine 
Kelley and Nadine Erickson, both of The Dalles; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-
grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zoe Davis, Denver, 
Colo.  His wife died in 1971 and a son, Lynwood, died in 1962.

    Graveside services were Monday at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hood River County 
with the Rev. Richard Conway officiating.  Anderson Funeral Home of Hood River 
was in charge of arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to charity.
