The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 19, 1984
Ora Guiles Rector, 76, died July 7 in Anchorage, Alaska where he lived since 
November 1983.  He was a former long-time resident of The Dalles.

Mr. Rector was born in Burgess, Mo. Oct. 14, 1905.  He worked as a heavy 
equipment operator until recent years when he worked in The Dalles Day Care 
Center as a maintenance man.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Gidley, Anchorage; two stepsons, 
Everett Yockey, Corcoran, Calif.; and Dan Yockey, Modesto, Calif; four step-
daughters, Ann Franklin, Hood River; Caroline Palmer, Yuba City, Calif.; Linda 
Gidley, Chico, Calif.; and Judith Gidley, The Dalles; one brother, Raymond 
Rector, Millville, Calif.; and one sister Wahneeta VerValen, Corning, Calif.

His wife Bernice died in 1974.  One daughter, Lorna Payne, died in June 1984.

Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home Wednesday.  
Burial followed at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, The Dalles.
