She was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Olds, Alberta, Canada the sixth of seven children to Ray Denton and Mary Elizabeth (MacAddams) Sloan. She grew up in Canada until she was 9, then the family moved to the Newberg area. She settled in The Dalles in the early 1990’s. She was a former member of The Dalles Senior Center and enjoyed her family, exercising, sports, bingo and music. She is survived by her special companion, Carl Anderson, The Dalles; her daughter, Darleen Aldrich, Marsing, Idaho; her granddaughter, Julie Smidth, Everett, Wash.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her neice, Edna Anderson, Portland. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with inurnment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
