She was born June 14, 1934, in Penrose, Utah, to Starlin F. and Beulah (Shuman) Stanfill. She was raised and attended schools in Utah. She married Wally Brown and they lived in Mesa, Ariz., and Sun Valley, Calif. She moved to The Dalles in February 1964, where she and her father owned and operated the Pinewood Mobile Manor. In 1970, the family moved to Dufur where she owned and operated the Dufur Pastime. She married Fred E. Rake on December 18, 1978, and they lived in Tygh Valley. She traveled with Fred during his work with Cody Logging & Construction, cooking for the workmen. She enjoyed cooking, canning for her family and friends, camping, going to the fair, gardening and sewing. She is survived by her daughters, Jolene Wedrick, White Salmon; Patsy Busick, The Dalles; Karen Brown, Tygh Valley; step-daughter, Teresa Wilson, Maupin; grandchildren, Krista Vaughan, Stacey Kyle, Jay Kyle, Jenilou Graves, Lester Lindell, Aimee Bell and Brandon Wilson; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother Doyle Stanfill, Terrebonne; and her sister, Shirley Draski, Redondo Beach, Calif.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Rake in June 1998, her grandson, AW Lunceford; her sisters, Rhea Randall and Charlene Stanfill. Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, with Asa Jenson officiating. Private interment will be held at the White Salmon Cemetery. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles, is in care of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle Street, The Dalles, OR 97058.
