The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 27, 1987
Esther Marion Putnam, 47, died Feb. 20 in Portland.  She was a lifetime 
resident of The Dalles.

Mrs. Putnam was born Nov. 24, 1939, in The Dalles.  She was a member of the 
class of 1958 from The Dalles High School.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Putnam, who she married June 7, 1960, in 
Bingen, Wash.; a son, Johnathan W. Putnam of Hillsboro; two daughters, Marcia 
Turner of Beaverton and Charlene Putnam of The Dalles; a stepson, Douglas L. 
VanBuskirk of Salem; a step-daughter, Wendy Boland of Fort Polk, Louisiana; a 
brother, Otis Winchedster of The Dalles; a sister, Ruth Cobler of Kalispell, 
Mont.; half sisters, Wilma Paulsen of Waunakee, Wisc., Maella Lyons of 
Friendship, Wisc., Clara Bowers of Friendship, and Alma Colby of The Dalles; 
half-brothers, Leonard Pishion of Dodgeville, Wis., Herbert Pishion of Apache 
Junction, Ariz., Fay Pishion of Dayton, Ariz., and Ernest Pishion of The 
Dalles.

Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, followed 
by burial at Parklawn Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Oregon Health 
Sciences University and Neurological Surgical Research Dept.
