The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 3, 1983
     Ruth Amelia Purdie, 71, a resident of The Dalles the past eight years, 
died Friday at her home.
     She was born Nov. 22, 1911 in Boone, Iowa.
     Survivors include two sons, Thomas, Mt. Hood, and Peter, Tillamook; six 
grandchildren and two sisters, Mabel and Ada, both in Iowa.  Her husband, 
Curtis, died in 1979, and a daughter Janet Kirk, died in 1972.
     Funeral services were Tuesday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home 
with David Thomas officiating.  Burial was at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
