The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 21, 1983
     Mrs. Bessie Prochazka, a resident of The Dalles, died at the hospital 
Tuesday.  She was 97.
     Mrs. Prochazka was born April 8, 1886 at Taus, Wis.
     She had been active in Gateway Presbyterian Church.  Her husband, 
Vincent, whom she married April 17, 1907, at Baltimore, Md., died in 1962.
     Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Shanks, The Dalles; and three 
sons, Theodore, Solvang, Calif.; Daniel, St. Clair Shore, Mich., and John, 
Denver; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. this Friday, July 22, at Smith 
Callaway Chapel, Dr. James Hazlett of Gateway Presbyterian Church 
officiating.  Graveside services will be Monday, July 25, at the Evergreen 
Memorial Park, Omaha, Neb.
     The family has suggested memorials to Gateway Presbyterian Church 
Landscape Fund.
