     Judy Ann Phillips, 61, a resident of Maupin, died at a local care 
facility in The Dalles on Monday, Aug. 29, 2005.
     She was born on April 21, 1944 in Oakland, Calif., the oldest of six 
children, to Vernon Morton and Delores Lorrang (Kusak) Adir. She was raised 
and graduated from high school in Sisters.
     She met William Junior Phillips in Sisters and they were married in 
Carson City, Nev., in 1961. They lived in Sisters until 1964, when they moved 
to Maupin. She enjoyed rock hunting and going to yard sales.
     She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William Phillips; her four 
children, Penny Byars, Harold Phillips, William Phillips Jr., and Tammy 
Swearingen; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; her mother, Delores 
Hopper; two sisters, Patty Barklay and Diane Smith; a brother, Harold Morton 
Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her father Vernon, her sister Wendy and her 
brother Tim.
     Viewing visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 2, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 
Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on 
Saturday, Sept. 3, at Kelly Cemetery in Maupin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry 
Moynihan officiating.
     Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2120 First Ave. N., 
Seattle, WA, 98109.
