William Martin Pfaff Surnames: Pfaff, Kosel, Lindberg, Loran, Swederofsky William Martin Pfaff, 85, died in The Dalles on February 19, 2003. He was born to Phillip and Magadelena (Kosel) Pfaff on November 11, 1917 in Mounds City, South Dakota. He moved to Selah, Washington in 1936 and on August 28, 1946 married Alice Swederofsky in Vancouver (Washington) and they moved to the Lyle/Klickitat (Washington) area shortly thereafter. He worked for the J. Neils mill in Klickitat, retiring in the 1980s. He liked tinkering on cars and bowling and also enjoyed woodworking, making picture frames and furniture. Survivors include his wife, Alice, Lyle; daughter, Darlene Lindberg, Paradise, California; son, Daryl Pfaff, Eureka, California; sister, Ruth Loran, Otis Orchard, Washington; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Henry, Albert, Fred, Edwin and Theodore and sisters Martha and Esther. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon (Washington) followed by interment at the Lyle Balch Cemetery in Lyle.
