The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 13, 1984
     Gladys Irene Petersen, 85, died Dec. 3, at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.  
She was a long-time resident of The Dalles.

     She was born Oct. 11, 1899 in Oregon City and came to The Dalles in 1903.

     In 1917, she married Henry M. Petersen.  He died in 1971.

     Mrs. Petersen was a emmber of the Degree of Honor.

     Survivors include three sons, John C. and Donald L., both of The Dalles, 
and Lewis F., Maupin; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services were at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home with the 
Rev. James Hazlett officiating.  Private burial was in The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery.

     Honorary casketbearers were Lewis, Rodney, Jerry, David, Howard, William 
and Frederick Petersen.

     Memorials may be made to the Gateway Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
