The Dalles Chronicle, January 20, 2005
     Arden Lynn Peters, 69, a former resident of Sherman County, died Jan. 4, 
2005, at his home in Tigard.
     He was born May 23, 1935, to Herman and Clara (Folda) Peters in Grass 
Valley. He graduated in 1953 from Moro High School, and in 1956 from the 
Oregon Technical Institute (now Oregon Institute of Technology) in Klamath 
Falls. He served two years in the U.S. Navy, owned a tire store and gas 
station, and retired as a salesperson for Portland General Electric in 1997.
     He was a lifetime member of Lake Oswego Lions Club, where he received the 
Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was also a member of Tigard American Legion.
     Survivors include: wife Suzanne; daughter Elizabeth Nistler, Newberg; son 
Douglas, Tigard; brother Herman, Hood River; and granddaughter Kristina 
Nistler, Newberg.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.
     A service will be held at 1 p.m., Jan. 29 at the Lake Oswego National 
Guard Armory at 1915 South Shore Blvd.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing 
Foundation, 1410 S.W. Morrison St., Suite 760, Portland, OR 97205.
