The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 28, 1984
     Mervyn George Peters, 82, died June 17 at a hospital in Madras.  He was a 
resident of Antelope.

     He was born Dec. 16, 1901 to George and Betty Peters in Oakland, Calif.

     Mr. Peters lived in The Dalles much of his life and worked for Stadelman 
Ice Co.  In the 1930's he moved to Shaniko and worked in the sheep industry.  
After serving in World War II, he worked on several ranches in the Shaniko and 
Willowdale area until his retirement.

     He was a member of the American Legion and the Odd Fellows.

     Survivors include four sisters, Geraldine Jibeau, Los Altos, Calif.; and 
Janet Hendrickson, Daley City, Calif.; and a brother, Willard Peters, also of 
Daley City.

     Memorial services were held at Madras Evergreen Chapel with the Rev. Dave 
Dartnell officiating.
