The Dalles Chronicle, November 24, 1971
     Oren E. Peters of Portland, whose funeral was at that city's Little 
Chapel of the Chimes today, was known in The Dalles and vicinity.
     He was a life member in Portland of the Elks Lodge, and also a member of 
the Order of Railway Conductors and the Union Pacific Old Timers Club.
     Entombment was to follow at Rose City Cemetery.
