She was born on Sept. 7, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Mayme (Vintin) Bayer in Grass Valley. On July 4, 1942, she married Charles Perrigo in White Salmon. They lived for many years in The Dalles and Pendleton before moving to LaGrande in 1982. She worked as a secretary and librarian in the Pendleton Library during the mid 1960’s and 1970’s. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, and was an avid reader. She spent much of her time following first her daughter’s activities and then each of her grandchildren whenever possible. She was a long time member of the Rebecca’s. Survivors include her children, Linda Riggs, Vancouver; Leslie Schricker, Baker City; and Lori Deike, Olympia; four grandchildren, Jeff Schricker, McCall Idaho; Jayme Schricker, John Day; Jenifer Andrews, Portland; and Cori Deike Crofts, Sequim, Wash. and one brother, David Bayer, El Macero, Calif.; along with other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband Charles Perrigo and three brothers all preceded her in death. A private graveside service was held at the Hillcrest East Cemetery in La Grande. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Research Institute in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, OR 97850.
