The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 4, 1984
     Murl May Perkins, 86, died at a local nursing home Saturday, Sept. 30.  
She lived in The Dalles since October, 1910.
     She was born in Centrailia, Ill., Sept. 27, 1898.
     Mrs. Perkins was a longtime resident of the First Congregational Church 
and was a lifetime member of the Lions Auxiliary.
     Survivors include a son, Dr. Michael C. Carney, Ontario; seven 
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Baker, Olympia, 
Wash.
     Her husband, Dr. Frederick Perkins, died in July of 1968, and two great-
grandchildren also died earlier.
     Funeral services were at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home Tuesday 
with the Rev. Karl Vercouteren officiating.
     Entombment was at The Dalles IOOF Memorial Mausoleum.
     Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund.
