     Bane “Joe” Joseph Patuka, 69, a long time resident of El Cajon, Calif., 
died on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
     He was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Allentown, Penn. He was an only child, 
raised by his mother Lucille Evelyn Fox and his father Melvin Fox. As a child, 
the family moved frequently due to his father's military duties.
     He married Betty B. Hausman on June 9, 1967 in San Diego, Calif. They 
lived in San Diego area where he worked as a chef. He moved to Rufus within 
the past few months to be near his family.
     He enjoyed conversing with everyone he encountered, bingo, and was a San 
Diego Padre and Charger fan.
     He is survived by his mother, Lucille Fox, Rufus; his daughter, Ida M. 
and her husband, John L. Price, Moro; his son, Joseph K. Patuka, San Diego; 
his grandchild, Justin J. Price, Moro; his nephew, Randy K. Hausman-Francis, 
Rufus; his former wife, Betty Patuka, Rufus, and his caregivers, Sherie Husak 
and William Rudell, both of Rufus. He was preceded in death by his father, 
Melvin Fox.
     Memorial services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery at 11 a.m. 
on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 with U.S. Air Force honors. Private cremation was 
held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral 
Home in care of arrangements.
