She was born June 11, 1908, in The Dalles, the oldest of four children to Otto and Nellie Ann (Gray) Greene. She was raised in The Dalles and graduated from St. Mary's Academy. She then attended business college in Portland and lived in The Dalles except for a few years when she lived in Portland and California. She married Franc Henry Palo on August 20, 1935, in Los Angeles, and he died in July of 2000. She worked for many years as a Grange Insurance agent, as a bookkeeper for Auto Electric Supply and for Pease Department Store. She retired from Martin Marietta as a purchasing agent in the early 70's. She was a member of First Christian Church, the grange, VFW Auxiliary and had been active as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, cooking and her cross word puzzles. Nina is survived by her daughter, Marcia L. and her husband, David Lacock, The Dalles; grandsons, Jon D. and his wife, Dannise Lacock, Port Angeles, Wash.; Darren D. and his wife, Joey Lacock, Dallesport; five great- grandchildren; her sister, Edna Rogers and her brother, Lynn Greene, both of The Dalles. Private memorial services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Monday, April 19 at 11 a.m. with Mike Wilson officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with interment of cremains at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery on Cherry Heights Road. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
