He was born Aug. 18, 1931 at the family home in Springfield to Wade and Hazelle (Bell) Paddock. At a very young age he developed a love of hunting and fishing which stayed with him his entire life. He graduated from Springfield High in 1949, married his classmate Darlene Wynegar in 1951, and began a career with Weyerhaeuser Co., becoming a foreman in the plywood mill when he was 24. Two children were added to the family, Vicki Lynn in 1951 and Kevin in 1955. In 1968 he married Barbara Alford of Eugene and they soon transferred to the Snoqualmie, Wash. plywood plant. He also gained a step-son, Terry. Bob and Barbara retired in 1985 to the beautiful desert country of Central Washington. He took a year to enjoy his hobbies and then started a lawn maintenance service in the little community of Sunland Estates, where they lived until 2001 when they moved to The Dalles to be closer to family and to return to small town living. He made many memorable fall trips to South Dakota to hunt pheasant with his beloved dog, Sadie. Winters were spent in southeast Arizona, where he discovered a camp ground with a trap-shooting range. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Amateur Trapshooting Assn. and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Vicki Lynn and husband Dan Edney, Springfield; Kevin Paddock and wife Toni, Kirkland, Wash.; Terry Alford and wife Colette, Hood River; and grandchildren Jesse Edney, Kallen and Taylor Paddock, and Reanna Thomasson, Reedsport.
