She was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Spavinaw, Okla., the third of six children to John A. and Alice Bell (Newman) Walker. She grew up in Hood River and graduated from Hood River High School. She married Jack Louis McKissen in the early 1940’s in Carson, Wash., they lived in Hood River and Mosier. Jack preceded her in death in 1958 and she moved to Rufus in 1962. She later married Cedric “Ted” Henry Osborne and they owned and operated The Highway Market, a retail grocery store, in Rufus and the Hi-Dam Tavern in Grand Coulee, Wash. She enjoyed running her business, sewing, flower gardening, especially roses, and her family. She is survived by her sons, Jack McKissen, Rufus; and Wayne and his wife, Cathy McKissen, Goldendale; adopted daughter, Atha “Gwen” Lincoln, Rufus; her grandchildren, Yulanda Owen, The Dalles; Monica and K.C. Ferres, Dufur; Jacki and Henry Wentz, Rufus; Chris and Laura McKissen, Post Falls, Idaho; Sean McKissen, Tualatin; Marla and Mark Clark, Cottonwood, Calif.; and Kerry Smith, Tualatin; 12 great grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, her brother, Hube Walker, Hood River; her son-in-law, Ronald Cumiford, The Dalles; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack, in 1958 and Ted, in 1998; her daughter, Nancy L. Cumiford in 2002, two sisters, two brothers, and great-grandson, Kelsey Owen. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with Asa Jenson officiating. Private cremation was held The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory. Remembrances may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058. A luncheon will follow memorial services at The Dalles Eagles Lodge.
