Wakley iwakley@msn.com and July 27, 2006, 5:32 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 27, 1984 Don Pohlman Orwig, 62, died at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Dec. 21. He lived in The Dalles for the past five years. He was born June 16, 1922 in Marvia, Iowa. Mr. Orwig served his career in the Army and served in World War II and in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. After his retirement from the military he worked as a police officer in Orange County, Floria, until he retired from that position and moved to The Dalles. Survivors include his wife, Donna, The Dalles; a daughter, Regina Smith, Planterville, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hoffman, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lelah Fabot, Ococee, Fla. Graveside services were Saturday in the veteran's section of the IOOF Parklawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Thornton Gapan officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
