The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 8, 1987
Cletus Peter Opbroek, 57, died at his home in The Dalles April 30.  He was a 
resident of The Dalles for 18 years.

Mr. Opbroek was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Fairfax, S.D.  He moved to The Dalles in 
1969, operating the Frito Lay Distributorship until his retirement in 1979, 
when his son, Ron, took over.  He was a member of the St. Peter Catholic 
Church, the Knights of Columbus, The Dalles Eagles, Elks and Moose Lodges.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, who he married in 1947; his son, Ron, of 
The Dalles; two daughters, Mrs. Linda McBride of Corvallis, and Mrs. Carol 
Korfhage of Salem; five grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Opbroek of Walla 
Walla and Larry Opbroek of Longview; a sister, Elaine Maryfield of Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary's Foundation.  Spencer, Libby and 
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
