Olson, an Aberdeen, Wash. native and former longtime resident of Redmond, Ore., died of myasthenia gravis Sunday, January 23, 2005, at Providence Hospital in Portland, Ore. She was 72. She was born Oct. 6, 1932, in Tacoma to Ted and Grace Micheau. She graduated from Puyallup High School and attended what was then known as Oregon State College. On Oct. 10, 1952, she married Norman C. Olson at Aberdeen. They lived in Aberdeen the first years of their marriage, then lived in Redmond for 12 years. He survives her there. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, and sharing her garden with deer, rabbits and birds, as well as golfing and traveling. With her husband’s engineering career she traveled to Europe and the far East, Saudi Arabia and Japan, and made a trip around the world in 1982, In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ronald of Bend and Mike of Culver; two daughters, Linda Ellett of The Dalles, and Suzanne Miller of Crooked River; seven brothers, Bob Micheau of Tacoma, Don Micheau of Aberdeen, Ken Micheau of Portland, Bill Micheau of Montesano, Henry Micheau of Hillsboro, and Jerry and George Micheau, both of Hoquiam, and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, at Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles, Pastor Dorthy Nielsen presiding. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
