The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 21, 1987
Lawrence Oscar Olson, 74, died at a Bend hospital Aug. 15.  He was a resident 
of The Dalles since 1975, formerly of the Mt. Hood area.

Mr. Olson was born April 17, 1913, in Portland.  He worked as a heavy 
equipment operator in highway maintenance until his retirement.  He also 
operated an engine repair business from his home in The Dalles.

He is survived by a son, Lawrence Olson of Eugene; a daughter, Sonja Howell of 
Bend; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death 
by his wife, Freda in 1985.

Graveside services were held at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery, officiated by Rev. 
Delmer Anderson.  Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.  
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
