The Dalles Chronicle, December 30, 1986
Mattie Ann Olsen, 99, a former resident of the Shaniko area, died Dec. 13 in 
Salem and memorial services and burial were held in Klamath Falls.

She was born July 16, 1887 in Silverton to Louis and Nettie Woodside, who came 
to Wapinitia in 1889.

Mrs. Olsen and her husband, Peter, lived for many years in Shaniko before 
moving to Klamath Falls.  She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond R., Salem, and Ivan, Madras; and two 
daughters, Alice Vitus, Klamath Falls, and Gertrude Shirley, Hanford,Calif.
