The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 9, 1987
Mattie Ann Olsen, 99, died Dec. 13 at Salem.

She was born July 16, 1887, in Silverton, Ore., the daughter of Louis and 
Nettie Woodside, who later settled in Wapinitia in 1889.  She and her husband, 
Peter Olsen, lived for a number of years at Shaniko before moving to Klamath 
Falls, Ore.  Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond R. of Salem and Ivan of Madras; daughters 
Alice Vitus of Klamath Falls and Gertrude Shirley of Hanford, Calif.

Memorial services were held at Ward's Klamath Funeral Home, followed by burial 
at Klamath Memorial Park.
