The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 12, 1988
     Ralph Henry Odell, 78, died at a local nursing home Feb. 4.  He was a 
resident of The Dalles and Dufur since 1917.
     Mr. Odell was born March 4, 1909 in Portland.  He farmed in this area for 
many years and also worked as a caretaker for Sorosis Park for 11 years.  He 
was a member of Dufur Christian Church.
     He is survived by his wife, Georgia of The Dalles, to whom he was married 
in 1946; a son, William Ray Swett of The Dalles; a daughter, Mary Leslie of 
Oregon City; a sister; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces and 
two nephews.
     Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home with 
Pastor Asa Jenson officiating.
